COLONEL ANIRUDDHA N GUDI

IC-40347P Col Aniruddha N Gudi was commissioned into the Corps of Signals (5 Mountain Divisional Signal Regiment) on 12 Jun 1982 after passing out high in merit from Sainik School Bijapur, NDA (60th Course) and IMA. Subsequently he served with distinction in 57 Wireless Experimental Unit & 16 Infantry Divisional Signal Regiment and successfully commanded 57 Mountain Divisional Signal Regiment from 2001 to 2004 during Operations PARAKRAM and HIFAZAT, when he provided effective telecommunications for intense counter-insurgency actions in Manipur and South Assam.
After completing M.E. (Computer Science & Engineering) from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore in 1992, he was selected as a Systems Analyst and Designer for the first Indian software project for computerisation of war-gaming at War-gaming Development Centre, New Delhi. On graduating from Defence Services Staff College Wellington in 1996, he served as AQMG of 4 Infantry Division during Operation VIJAY and Exercise POORNA VIJAY. He served as the Chief Operations Officer of Defence Image Processing and Analysis Centre (DIPAC) in New Delhi from 2004 to 2009, managing its Data Processing Systems for processing imagery acquired from remote-sensing satellites.
He has been honoured with Commendations by the Chief of Army Staff in 2001 and Army Commander in 1995. He has edited TRIDARSHI, a professional in-house journal on satellite-based remote-sensing and has contributed six papers to professional journals. He has also completed M.B.A. from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi in 2009 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics & Telecom Engineers. He retired voluntarily on 16 Dec 2009 as Commandant of DIPAC.
Though Col A N Gudi completed his primary education in Village Muroor of Kumta Taluk (Uttara Kannada), he is a native of Village Yalgach in Haveri District of Karnataka. He is the eldest son of Smt Lata and Late Shri NG Gudi, who was a reputed rationalist thinker and served as the founding Head Master of Pragati Vidyalaya High School, Muroor.

You commanded Defence Image Processing and Analysis Centre (DIPAC) in New Delhi before taking voluntary retirement. After your successful innings in the services, you have taken up appointment with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) at Hyderabad. We are proud of you. Yours is an appropriate and fitting biography for the young Ajeets in the school for inspiration.
